Srinagar, Nov 12: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has initiated enrollment drives across the region to ensure no child is left out of school in the valley. Naseer Ahmad Wani, the Director of School Education Kashmir, informed Rising Kashmir that with the commencement of the new academic session this November, the Divisional-Level Enrollment Drive 2025 has also been launched in all Government schools within the valley. "This initiative will require the active involvement of school heads, teachers, and students. Additionally, the Chief Education Officer, Zonal Level Officers, and Cluster Heads are overseeing the enrollment drives at both the zonal and district levels," he said. Wani said that at the divisional level, the directorate is supervising the enrollment campaigns and awareness programmes, which are being conducted regularly in every area of Kashmir. As part of this enrollment drive, teachers and students are visiting the homes of families to facilitate on-the-spot admissions for those children who are not currently attending school or who have dropped out at any grade, the Director said. "The teachers are also bringing parents and children to the schools and showcasing all the available facilities. This is to ensure that parents feel assured about the provisions being made for students in this modern educational environment. The teachers are educating parents about the significance of education and the resources available to students in government schools," he added. The DSEK said that students enrolled in government schools do not incur any costs for their education, as all necessary items, including uniforms, school books, and mid-day meals, are provided by the government free of cost to the student. He encouraged parents to enroll their children in government schools to ensure that no child is deprived of education.
