Girls outshine boys in JKBOSE Class 12 Jammu Div results

Girls record 91% pass percentage, boys 81%; overall 88.85% LG, CM extend congratulations

Srinagar, Apr 22: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) declared the Class 12 results for the 2026 Summer Zone in Jammu Division on April 21, recording a strong overall performance across streams with an overall pass percentage of 88.85.

According to JKBOSE data, 39,309 students appeared in the examination this year, out of which 35,299 successfully passed. The results show a clear edge for girls, who outperformed boys by a significant margin, with girls recording a pass percentage of 91 while boys stood at 81.

Science emerged as the best-performing stream with a pass percentage of 93. Out of 10,167 students enrolled, 9,432 cleared the examination. Commerce followed with a 90 pass percentage, where 1,625 students qualified out of 1,809 enrolled candidates. Arts recorded a pass percentage of 84, with 7,060 students passing out of 8,400.

A notable highlight of this year's results is that around 51 per cent of students secured distinction marks, indicating improved academic performance and consistency. 

Ayushi Sharma topped the Science stream with an impressive 99.4 percent. In the Arts stream, Prince Prabhat Singh and Rudraansh Rajput shared the top rank, both scoring 495 marks, which translates to 99.0 percent.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha congratulated the successful students. In a post of X, he said, “I extend my heartiest congratulations to all the students who have successfully passed JKBOSE Class 12th Annual Regular Examinations–2026 (Summer Zone Jammu Division). I wish you continued success in all your future endeavours. Kudos to the teachers & parents for their hard work.”

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in his congratulatory message on applauded the hard work and perseverance of the successful students. He wished them success ahead and encouraged those who fell short to “stay resilient and keep striving”.

The results underline steady academic progress in the Jammu Division, with improved pass rates and higher distinctions, highlighting better participation and focused preparation among students across streams. Officials said the board remains committed to strengthening the education system and ensuring transparent evaluation processes.
