Karnah (Kupwara), Nov 12: In a gesture of harmony, a Muslim resident from Teetwal, Karnah, has donated a piece of land for setting up public facilities at the historic Sharda Temple and Gurdwara near the Line of Control in Teetwal, Kashmir. Ajaz Khan, representing local resident Ghyasuddin, handed over the land documents for one marla of land that will be used to build essential amenities for devotees and visitors. The All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) honoured Ajaz Khan at an event in New Delhi for his contribution to the Sharda Mission, an initiative AIKS has supported since 2005. “We are thankful to the donor for this noble gesture that reflects communal harmony and compassion,” said AIKS President Ravinder Pandita. The facilities will be developed by the Save Sharda Committee, which manages both the Sharda Temple and the adjoining Sikh Gurdwara at Teetwal. Khan, who has been coordinating pilgrim arrangements between the Army, civil administration, and the Sharda Committee, has facilitated visits of thousands of yatris, including Kashmiri Pandits, ensuring smooth conduct of religious activities even during cross-border tensions. Noted scholar Sushil Pandit praised the donation as a symbol of unity and mutual respect. AIKS members presented Ajaz Khan and his wife, Nasreen, with a shawl and a memento in appreciation of their service.
