JE suspended over poor road work on Chijhama–Tragpora stretch

Srinagar, July 12: Reacting promptly to public anger over substandard macadamisation on the Chijhama–Tragpora Road, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Surinder Choudhary on Saturday ordered immediate action against those responsible. As per a statement issued here, following the online uproar, Junior Engineer Riyaz Ahmad Bhat was placed under suspension with immediate effect. Moreover, a formal notice has been served to the executing firm, M/S Rafiq Construction, directing them to explain the lapses and initiate urgent corrective measures. “Public money will not be allowed to go to waste. Accountability is non-negotiable,” the Deputy CM said in a strong statement.
