IBPR, SKUAST-K conducts awareness  Prog at G'bl

Srinagar, Nov 26: A one-day Awareness cum interaction Program was organized in the tribal village of Anderwan-B, Ganderbal under DST-SEED funded project titled “Inclusion of Indigenous Survival Skills in Livelihood Security of Tribal Community in Kashmir, India.”
According to a statement issued here, the purpose of the visit was to document the traditional livelihood practices, indigenous survival skills, and socio-economic conditions of the tribal population, while identifying opportunities for integrating these practices into sustainable development frameworks.
During the visit, scientists and project fellows held an interactive awareness session at the panchayat with the tribals of Anderwan-B to understand their current socio-economic status, livelihood patterns, and challenges. Recognizing the strong potential for income enhancement, the project team encouraged villagers to form community groups dedicated to MAPs-based activities, Dairy development, and other handicraft-based livelihoods.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from community members, many of whom expressed interest in forming cooperative groups to work towards a more secure economic future.
