Dr Darakhshan inaugurates new academic block at Model Waqf School, Charar-e-Sharief

Srinagar, Jan 06: Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi Tuesday inaugurated the newly constructed first floor and Examination Hall at the Model Waqf School, Chrar-e-Sharief, at an impressive function held in the school.
A statement issued here said that the infrastructural extension project, which was initiated last year, has been completed within a short span of time in accordance with approved standards. Waqf Board officials and several eminent citizens of the town were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Darakhshan highlighted the extensive infrastructural development undertaken by the Waqf Board at Chrar-e-Sharief over the past three years.
She described the land of Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani (RA) as the spiritual power centre of Kashmir, holding immense significance in the spiritual landscape of the country. The Waqf Board Chairperson announced that Smart Classes would soon be introduced in all educational institutions run by the Waqf Board across the Union Territory.
She also noted that the Waqf Board was the first institution in Jammu and Kashmir to implement the National Education Policy in its educational establishments.
Referring to the recent developments at the shrine of Alamdar, Dr Andrabi said the large-scale transformation had received overwhelming public endorsement and that infrastructural initiatives were progressing at an unprecedented pace.
“The year 2026 will witness a historic infrastructural boost in the Waqf Board across J&K,” she said.
Earlier, Dr Darakhshan paid obeisance at the shrine of Nund Reshi (RA) and reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects in the area. Eminent personalities present on the occasion included Haji Younis, Imam-o-Khatib Molvi Ameer-ud-Din, noted writer Inayat Gul, Regional Director MANNU Srinagar Dr Aijaz Ashraf, Executive Magistrate Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, Executive Engineer Qazi Mushtaq Ahmad, and others.
