Dr Andrabi inaugurates Noor Khana, ladies’ sanitary complex at Dastgir Sahib shrine

Srinagar, Nov 26: Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, inaugurated the newly constructed Noor Khana and a Ladies Sanitary Complex at the famous Peer Dastgir Sahib Shrine in Khanyar, Srinagar. She was accompanied by Board members Dr Ghulam Nabi Haleem, Syed Mohammad Hussain Haqqani, Executive Magistrate Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, Executive Engineer Qazi Mushtaq, and others. Addressing the gathering, Dr Andrabi highlighted the progress made by the Board over the past three years and called for increased transparency and accountability. “Our work has set higher standards, and public expectations have grown manifold. We don’t believe in selling sentiments but in addressing the sentiments of the people. We are committed to creating the necessary infrastructure at all shrines managed by the Board, with transparency and integrity," she said. The Waqf Board chairperson called the Noor Khana a "dream project" that has now been realised, bringing immense joy to the community. She highlighted the importance of the newly inaugurated ladies' sanitary complex, which was much needed in the shrine area. Dr Andrabi reaffirmed the Waqf Board’s ongoing developmental efforts across Jammu and Kashmir"despite challenges from vested interests". "The Board remains dedicated to serving the community’s needs," she added.
