Weather Update: Mostly Dry Conditions Till April 23; Rain, Thunderstorms Likely Later in J&K

Srinagar, April 21: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast largely dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir until April 23, with only brief spells of light rain at isolated places not ruled out.

According to the latest forecast, weather conditions are expected to change from April 24. The region is likely to witness partly to generally cloudy skies with one or two spells of light rain or thundershowers at scattered to many places on April 24 and 25. Gusty winds are also expected at a few locations, particularly during late afternoon and evening hours.

On April 26, brief spells of light rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds may occur at a few places during the afternoon. Dry weather is expected to return on April 27 and 28.

Towards the end of the month, April 29 and 30 may again see brief spells of light rain or thundershowers at a few places, with gusty winds likely during late afternoon hours.

The MeT department has advised farmers to continue agricultural operations until April 23, taking advantage of the largely dry weather. A rise in daytime temperatures by 2–4°C is also expected at many places during this period.
