Srinagar, Apr 13: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast a largely dry spell across Jammu and Kashmir over the next few days, with intermittent rain and gusty winds expected later this week.
According to the latest forecast, weather conditions across the Union Territory will remain generally dry from April 13 to 15. On April 16, the weather is likely to stay mostly dry, although a brief spell of light rain or thundershower may occur at isolated places towards the evening or night.
A change in weather is expected from April 17, with generally cloudy skies and light rain or thundershowers predicted at many places across Jammu and Kashmir. The MeT office has also warned of gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 km/h and the possibility of hailstorms at a few locations during April 17–18.
Thereafter, from April 19 to 23, the weather is expected to remain generally dry again.
Meanwhile, an advisory has been issued for farmers, urging them to continue farm operations until April 16 in view of the expected dry conditions. The MeT department has also predicted a rise in daytime temperatures by 2–4°C at many places till April 16.
