Indian Idol winner Salman Ali shoots music video in valley

Srinagar, Apr 30: Bollywood singer and winner of the 10th season of Indian Idol, Salman Ali, is currently in the valley shooting for a music video.
According to the organisers, the shoot has taken place at several scenic locations, including Dal Lake, Shalimar Bagh, and the Harwan area.
“The singer has been shooting in Srinagar since Monday, and we have covered different locations across the city. On Tuesday, we filmed along the riverside in Chandpora, Harwan. We are also planning to shoot in Sonamarg,” said Javaid Khan, the line producer overseeing the shoot in Kashmir told Rising Kashmir.
He added that following the Pahalgam attack, Bollywood had stayed away from Kashmir for a few months. “But now things have normalised, and Bollywood as well as other film units are returning to the valley and exploring its locations again,” he said.
Khan further noted that film shoots in Kashmir are generating employment for tourism stakeholders and others associated with the industry.
The director of the music video, Israr Ahmad, said Kashmir is always his top choice for shooting whenever the opportunity arises. “I have shot multiple songs in Kashmir in the past with various actors, and today I am back again,” he said.
“I have always received immense love from the people of the valley, which keeps bringing me back,” he added.
Salman Ali shares a deep connection with Kashmir and visits the valley frequently. He has filmed several songs here, including collaborations with Bollywood musician Salim Merchant. In the past, he has also introduced local artists from the region. He has also done a music concert in Srinagar in the past.
With peace returning to the valley, Bollywood appears to be making a comeback. Recently, filmmakers like Kabir Khan and Anurag Basu, along with actor Kartik Aaryan, have shot films in Kashmir, raising hopes for a revival in tourism.
