MHA to hold Ladakh Political dialogue sub-committee meeting on May 22

Ladakh, April 26 : The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has scheduled a meeting of its sub-committee on political dialogue concerning Ladakh for May 22.

In a post on X by the Office of the LG Ladakh, the meeting is part of the ongoing process of engaging with key stakeholders in the Union Territory.

The sub-committee is mandated to discuss a range of issues related to Ladakh, including demands over governance, political representation, and regional safeguards.

The LG’s office stated that the upcoming meeting is expected to contribute towards developing a long-term framework to address the aspirations of the people of Ladakh.

This development comes amid continuing demands from various political and social groups in Ladakh seeking constitutional safeguards, including statehood and inclusion under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.
