New Delhi, Apr 22: Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, will inaugurate a newly constructed 30-bed ESIC hospital at Ompora in Budgam district on Friday, officials said.
The facility, built at a cost of around Rs 165 crore, is expandable to 100 beds and is expected to significantly boost healthcare services under the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) scheme in the region. Spread over five acres, the hospital includes modern infrastructure such as modular operation theatres, an emergency OT, patient lifts, and eco-friendly systems.
Officials said the hospital will cater to over 50,000 workers and their families in Budgam and nearby areas. The minister will also honour construction workers involved in the project.
The facility includes three modular operation theatres and one dedicated emergency OT for both planned and critical procedures. It is equipped with four patient lifts for efficient movement and a modern HVAC system to ensure optimal air quality and comfort. The infrastructure features eco-friendly systems such as solar water heating and sewage and effluent treatment plants.
