JAMMU, Apr 22, 2026: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Tuesday announced the results of the Annual (Regular) Class 12 examination for the Summer Zone areas of the Jammu division. The overall pass percentage has improved significantly to 89.79%, compared to 75.95% last year.
A total of 39,309 students appeared in the examination, including 20,376 boys and 18,933 girls. Out of these, 35,299 students cleared the exam. This includes 18,117 boys and 17,182 girls.
Girls once again outperformed boys, recording a pass percentage of 90.75%, while boys achieved 88.91%.
The examinations began on February 23, 2026, and were conducted across 336 centres set up in the Jammu division to ensure smooth and fair conduct.
Government schools also showed a strong performance, with a pass percentage of 87.82%.
Education Minister Sakeena Itoo congratulated the students on their results, calling the improvement a reflection of ongoing reforms in the education system. She said better teaching methods, stronger student support, and the dedication of teachers have contributed to the rise in performance.
She especially appreciated the performance of girl students and praised teachers for ensuring continuity in learning.
For students who could not clear the exam, the minister encouraged them not to lose confidence and to take advantage of future opportunities with full support from institutions.
She said the results reflect the hard work of students, teachers, and parents, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the quality of education across the region.
