Youth must lead India’s development journey: LG

JAMMU, SEPT30:Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday lauded the vibrant energy of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, urging them to become catalysts for change and nation-building. He was speaking at the valedictory function of
‘Viksit Bharat Ke Rang–Kala Ke Sang’, an art-based youth engagement programme held in Jammu.
The event was jointly organised by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) and the Divisional Administration, Jammu. The LG addressed students from various schools and colleges who participated in the creative workshop, designed to inspire them to visualise and express their vision of a developed India through art.
“The responsibility of creating a developed India, not just on canvas but in reality, lies in the hands of the youth,” said the Lieutenant Governor. “Our youth are the key to shaping a prosperous future, preserving our cultural values, and driving innovation.”
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is committed to harnessing the potential of the younger generation and equipping them with the resources and opportunities necessary to achieve their goals.
“SewaParv is preparing the young demography to face future challenges with a positive mindset. The creative and constructive spirit of the youth will make them future leaders, inventors, and builders who will shape India’s growth trajectory,” LG Sinha noted.
He further called upon the youth to take on leadership roles, set clear goals for national development, and become active contributors to society’s progress.
“The youth carry the onerous responsibility of contributing to the nation’s growth. Their energy and ideas will propel India forward,” he said. He also urged young people and all sections of society to remain vigilant and united against divisive forces that seek to destabilise the country.
During the event, the Lieutenant Governor felicitated students who excelled in the
‘Viksit Bharat Ke Rang–Kala Ke Sang’ programme and appreciated their creative efforts. He suggested that such initiatives be institutionalised as regular features to foster youth engagement and national pride.
Among those present at the event were Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament; Prof. UmeshRai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu; Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu; BhimSenTuti, IGP Jammu; Dr.RakeshMinhas, Deputy Commissioner Jammu; ShrutiAwasthi, Regional Director IGNCA; along with senior officials, educators, and a large number of enthusiastic youth.
