SewaParv aligned with Viksit Bharat Vision: LG Sinha

JAMMU, Sept 28: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today participated in the ‘SewaParv’ celebrations organised by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in collaboration with the District Administration Reasi, at Katra. Addressing a large gathering at the event, the Lieutenant Governor underscored the significance of SewaParv — a festival celebrating service, creativity, and cultural pride. He noted that the initiative is in alignment with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, as envisaged by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. “The SewaParv brings together communities, institutions, and individuals in a collective movement of service for nation-building,” the Lt Governor said. He further highlighted the role of community participation in ensuring inclusive growth and emphasised the need for women-led development. “Active participation of women in decision-making processes and in economic activities should be our prime objective,” he asserted. The Lt Governor lauded the Shrine Board’s sustainable development efforts, particularly in solid waste management, water conservation, and public health promotion. As part of the celebrations, Lt Governor Sinha took part in a cleanliness drive at DarshaniDeodi and visited various stalls set up by government departments and social organisations. He also inspected the medical camp and planted a Rudraksha sapling at the Spiritual Growth Centre, Katra. During the event, sanction letters under various welfare schemes were handed over to beneficiaries. Prominent dignitaries present on the occasion included Saraf Singh Nag, Chairman, District Development Council Reasi; Baldev Raj Sharma, MLA Mata Vaishno Devi; Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu; Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University; Sarah Rizvi, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range; Sachin Kumar Vaishya, CEO Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board; and Nidhi Malik, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, among others. Senior officials, civil society members, Swachhagrahis, and representatives from various social organisations also attended the celebrations, reinforcing the spirit of collective service and community engagement.
