Srinagar, Sep 24: In a major push for youth entrepreneurship, the District Administration Srinagar has facilitated the approval of 3,000 applications under the Mission Yuva scheme, a flagship initiative of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs with capital and credit assistance.
Addressing the media, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, said that Mission Yuva provides crucial handholding support to aspiring entrepreneurs, right from application submission to final bank sanction.
“Mission Yuva is a flagship scheme where young individuals looking to start their own enterprises are supported through interest subvention. From submitting the application on the Yuva portal to DPR preparation, documentation, and compliance, everything is handled by the administration,” Labroo said.
He explained that once the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) approves the applications, they are forwarded to banks for financial sanction. Out of the 3,000 applications cleared by the committee so far, nearly 750 cases have already been sanctioned by banks, predominantly by J&K Bank.
In the latest outreach event held under the scheme, 300 new entrepreneurs received sanction letters, a development Labroo described as a step towards economic self-reliance and job creation.
“This is not just another government program; each sanction letter means one more enterprise and several potential jobs. This is our fourth such event, and we are committed to doing more,” he added.
Encouraging youth to take advantage of the scheme, Labroo stressed that the application process is simple and fully supported by the administration.
“There is no complexity. Interested youth just need to visit the Mission Yuva portal, check the eligibility, and apply. The district administration ensures complete handholding from start to finish,” he assured.
Labroo also reiterated that the administration is actively coordinating with banks to expedite the approval process and ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach as many young entrepreneurs as possible.
