Ecological integrity key to Viksit Bharat Vision: LG Sinha

Srinagar, Sept 27: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday said that for Viksit Bharat (Developed India) to become a reality, both ecological and economic integrity must be preserved. He stressed that biodiversity protection should be embraced as a national mission, requiring the joint efforts of every section of society. Speaking at the ‘Pride of J&K’ Awards Ceremony, organised by Network18 Group in Srinagar, the Lieutenant Governor honoured the Army, NDRF, SDRF, J&K Police, NGOs, and civil administration officials for their exceptional service during the recent natural calamities in Jammu and Kashmir. “These heroes offered hope and aid in the face of destruction. Their selfless service in rescue and relief, and their courage under extremely dangerous circumstances, deserves the highest recognition,” the LG said. He lauded Network18 for recognising these unsung heroes, adding that such initiatives will inspire more citizens to actively engage in community service and disaster response efforts. The LG reiterated the Government of India’s commitment to accelerating development in the Union Territory and restoring normalcy and growth under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “The Government is firmly committed to reviving Jammu and Kashmir’s development momentum and ensuring the swift return to normal life,” he said. He also appealed to the public to stand by thepolice and armed forcesin their ongoing fight againstterrorism and separatism. “The ecosystem of separatist elements is now breathing its last. The Army, J&K Police, and all security agencies have been given a free hand to crush terrorism and its sympathisers decisively,” the LG asserted. The event was attended by Brajesh Kumar Singh, Group Editor (Convergence), Network18, along with editors and senior members of the media group. Senior officials from the Army, Police, Civil Administration, representatives from various NGOs, and eminent citizens from diverse fields also participated in the felicitation ceremony.
