DG CRPF visits Kashmir, reviews security preparedness

Srinagar, Sep 22: Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Gyanendra Pratap Singh, concluded a two-day visit to the Kashmir Valley on Monday, during which he honoured personnel for their bravery and reviewed the security situation in the region. During his visit, Singh praised the courageous CRPF personnel involved in Operation Mahadev on July 28, which successfully neutralised three terrorists responsible for the April 22 killing of civilians in Baisaran Valley, Pahalgam. He described the operation as a shining example of courage and professionalism. At a Samvad session held at the CRPF Group Centre in Srinagar, the DG emphasised the critical importance of combat fitness, self-discipline, and tactical excellence to effectively address the evolving security challenges in the Valley. The session ended with an informal interaction over high tea, allowing Singh to mingle with the troops. Singh also chaired a high-level strategic review meeting attended by senior CRPF officials, including Rajesh Kumar, ADG J&K Zone; Gayendra Kumar Verma, IG (Ops) Directorate; Pawan Kumar Sharma, IG Srinagar Sector; and Vineet Brijlal, IG Kashmir Ops Sector. The discussions centered on strengthening counter-terrorism operations and maintaining sustained peace and security across the region.
