Srinagar, May 4: Authorities have issued a comprehensive traffic advisory in view of a mega padyatra rally scheduled in Budgam main town on May 05 (Tuesday), as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.

The event is expected to significantly impact vehicular movement across the town and adjoining routes.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Rural Kashmir, Liaqat Ali, Budgam town will remain a no-traffic zone from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the day of the rally. Commuters have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel through the area during this period.

To ensure smoother movement and minimize inconvenience, traffic police have devised a detailed diversion and rerouting plan:

Vehicular traffic from Beerwah and Magam heading towards Budgam will be diverted at Mirgund via Khumani Chowk Bemina towards Srinagar. Similarly, traffic from Humhama bound for Budgam will be rerouted at Ompora Chowk via Narkara–Gangbugh towards Srinagar.

At Choon Crossing, traffic from the Falchal area will be redirected towards Ichgam and further routed via Panzan and Chadoora to Srinagar.

In addition to diversions, several halting points have been designated. Traffic from Chadoora towards Budgam will be stopped at Durbugh Crossing and diverted towards the Chadoora-Srinagar road. No vehicles will be permitted from Ompora towards Budgam; instead, traffic will be halted and redirected via the Ompora-Narkara route.

Vehicles from Jawalapora will be halted at the Crusher Point, while traffic at Mirgund Crossing will be stopped and diverted towards Bemina, Srinagar. Similarly, vehicles from Chadoora-Panzan and Khansahib will be halted at Ichgam, and traffic from Falchal will be stopped at Choon Crossing and rerouted accordingly.
