• Badamwari, Tulip festival on Apr 13 • Baisakhi at 4 locations across Valley
Srinagar, Apr 11: Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department is all set to organise a series of festival events next week to boost the tourism sector further.
Amid the ongoing spring season, the back-to-back festivals are set to add further charm to the flowers, presently in full bloom at multiple places.
Almost a month after the Badamwari and Tulip gardens were thrown open for the public, the department is all set to organise the twin festivals at their respective places on April 13.
“Badamwari and Tulip festivals are being organised at respective gardens on April 13 to appraise the tourists with our cultural music,” said Director Tourism, Kashmir, Syed Qamar Sajad, told Rising Kashmir.
He added that the cultural events will be held at both places.
Sajad further informed that the Baisakhi festival is also set to be held at four different locations across Kashmir, including Zabarwan Park in Srinagar, Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonamarg. “The cultural events will also be held on the Baisakhi festival on April 14 at four locations,” he added.
The Director said these festivals are aimed at attracting the visitors while showcasing the Valley’s beauty, traditional charm and seasonal splendour at the peak of spring.
The department is aiming to come closer to the previous year’s tourism influx record in 2026.
Director Tourism, earlier, had informed Rising Kashmir that the department has been making persistent efforts to woo tourists to the Valley. “We have been organising festivals and events to attract tourists,” he said.
Sajad recently said that the department organised multiple festivals, including Frov Festival in Pahalgam, Movera, Aishmuqam and Bumzoo Anantnag, to boost tourism activities across the Valley. Both locals and tourists participated in these events.
