Srinagar, Jan 26: The Rising Kashmir team has been widely appreciated by various district administrations across Jammu and Kashmir for their dedicated, fearless and responsible journalism, reflecting the newspaper’s continued commitment to credible reporting and public interest stories.
On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day celebrations (January 26), Rising Kashmir Senior Correspondent Umar Raina was felicitated with an Award of Appreciation by the District Administration Ganderbal and Sub-District Administration Kangan in recognition of his contributions to journalism and community reporting.
In another recognition, Multimedia Reporter Arif Khan received an Award of Appreciation from the Deputy Director, Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) for his meritorious service during the coverage of firefighting operations. The award acknowledged his professional reporting and timely documentation of emergency response efforts.
Meanwhile, Rising Kashmir Senior Correspondent Arif Rashid was felicitated by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Beerwah, Taweef Ahmad Ghazi, for his notable contribution to the field of journalism. The SDM lauded Rashid’s efforts in highlighting important education-related stories and bringing forward success stories from Budgam district, stating that such journalism plays a vital role in informing the public and amplifying grassroots voices.
SDM Ghazi also praised the overall role of Rising Kashmir for delivering timely and credible information to the public across Jammu and Kashmir, noting that responsible journalism strengthens democratic values.
Adding to the recognitions, Rising Kashmir Reporter from Poonch, Sarfraz Chak, was honoured by the Poonch Administration for fearless and unbiased journalism. Expressing gratitude, he said he was honoured to be recognised for his work and reaffirmed his commitment to truth and responsible reporting.
These accolades reflect the Rising Kashmir team’s continued dedication to professional journalism and their role in highlighting public service, governance, and community-driven narratives across the region.
