Jammu, Jan 26: The 77th Republic Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at Shram Bhawan under the aegis of the Labour Department.
The National Flag was unfurled by S. Charandeep Singh (JKAS), Labour Commissioner, J&K, who also took the salute at 08:00 AM. The ceremony commenced with the National Anthem, followed by a well-structured programme highlighting the values of the Constitution of India and the spirit of unity and national integrity.
The occasion was graced by several senior officers and dignitaries, including Dr Jyoty Jolly, AMO; Nimisha Anand, FA/CAO, JKESIS; Naresh Kumar, Deputy Director (Planning); Roopali Gandotra, Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central); and Rupali Jasrotia, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Jammu. Officers and staff of the Labour Commissionerate, Assistant Labour Commissioner Jammu, IMOs of Jammu District, and other departmental officials were also present. Students from R.S. Pura participated in the celebrations, adding colour, discipline, and enthusiasm to the event.
On the occasion, the Departmental Calendar was formally unveiled. Additionally, “Shram Patrika”, the departmental newsletter (Volume III), was released. The first-ever newsletter of JKESIS Society, titled “Karmik Aarogya Abhiraksha Patrika”, was also unveiled, marking an important milestone in the Department’s outreach and information dissemination efforts.
Several employees of the Labour Department were felicitated with Certificates of Appreciation in recognition of their consistent dedication, professionalism, and valuable contribution to the Department. The employees honoured included Subash Chander, Sayed Mannan Haider, Himanshu Bakshi, Naseeb Singh, and Ashima Gupta.
On the occasion, cheques amounting to ₹11 lakh were distributed among different insured persons under the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme (ESIS), reaffirming the Department’s commitment to social security and worker welfare.
The programme also featured cultural presentations and felicitation of outstanding performers. The celebrations concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Roopali Gandotra, ALC Central, reiterating the Labour Department’s commitment towards service delivery, transparency, and public welfare.
