New Delhi/Jammu, May 07: President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday hailed the valour and sacrifices of the armed forces on the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor.
As the Prime Minister urged citizens to change their social media display pictures as a mark of respect, the Home Minister called it an "epochal mission" that will remind enemies of India's striking power. LG Sinha described it as a declaration of India's firm resolve to protect sovereignty at any cost.
In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 last year carrying out airstrikes on nine terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir eliminating at least 100 terrorists.
President Murmu said that Operation Sindoor is a defining testament to India’s unwavering resolve against terrorism and that the country stands vigilant, united and prepared to respond with strength to those who seek to threaten "Bharat". "The extraordinary success of this mission reflects the unmatched courage and determination of our armed forces. The brutal attack at Pahalgam was met with befitting and exemplary precision," Murmu said in a post on X.
"Operation Sindoor stands as a defining testament to India’s unwavering resolve against terrorism and all forces that threaten our sovereignty and the safety of our citizens," she said on the military strikes' first anniversary.
Those who seek to threaten Bharat must know that our nation stands vigilant, united, and prepared to respond with strength, the president said.
"Today, the nation salutes the indomitable bravery, sacrifice and professionalism of our soldiers," she said.
The Prime Minister said the armed forces had given a fitting response to those who dared to attack innocent Indians at Pahalgam. He said Operation Sindoor reflected India's firm response against terrorism and its unwavering commitment to safeguarding national security.
Modi noted that the operation highlighted the professionalism, preparedness and coordinated strength of the armed forces. He further said it showcased the growing jointness among the forces and underlined the strength that India's quest for self-reliance in the defence sector has brought to national security.
"A year ago, our armed forces displayed unparalleled courage, precision and resolve during Operation Sindoor. They gave a fitting response to those who dared to attack innocent Indians at Pahalgam. The entire nation salutes our forces for their valour," the Prime Minister posted on X.
He reiterated that India remains steadfast in its resolve to defeat terrorism and destroy its enabling ecosystem. As a mark of respect, Modi urged citizens to change their display pictures on X, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp to the picture shared by him.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah saluted the unparalleled valour of the armed forces on the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, calling it an "epochal mission of India" that will always remind enemies of the infallible striking power of the armed forces.
In a post on X, Shah said history will remember it as the day when precise striking power, meticulous intelligence from agencies, and resolute political will rose together to destroy each and every address of terror across the border that dared to cast an evil shadow on citizens at Pahalgam.
"This day will continue to bring the dreadful message to our enemies that no matter where they hide, they cannot escape. They are always within our sight and the fierce wrath of our firepower," Shah said.
He saluted the unparalleled valour of the armed forces on this occasion.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hailed the mission as a benchmark for modern warfare, citing its unmatched precision and seamless tri-services synergy
The operation stands as a powerful symbol of national resolve and preparedness to deal with national security challenges, he said in a message.
"On the anniversary of Operation Sindoor, we salute the valour and sacrifices of our armed forces, whose courage and dedication continue to safeguard the nation," Singh said.
"Their actions during the operation reflected unmatched precision, seamless jointness and deep synergy across services, setting a benchmark for modern military operations," he said.
The defence minister said the operation stands as a "powerful symbol of national resolve and preparedness, showing that our armed forces are always ready to act decisively when it matters most."
"It also stands testament to India's steady advance towards achieving #Atmanirbharta, enhancing capability while reinforcing resilience," he said.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha hailed the valour and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces on the anniversary of Operation Sindoor. "As we mark the anniversary of Operation Sindoor, we bow in reverence to the men and women in uniform whose unwavering resolve and extraordinary courage delivered a fitting response to the enemy who targeted innocent civilians at Pahalgam," the LG said in a statement.
He said Operation Sindoor is a declaration etched in resolve that the brave armed forces are committed to protecting the country's sovereignty and integrity at any cost. "It is a testament of India's firm resolve, and we are committed to dismantling the terror network and securing a terror-free Jammu and Kashmir," he added.
