Srinagar, Jan 25: On the eve of the 77th Republic Day, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta extended heartfelt greetings and warm wishes to the people of the Union Territory.
In a message, he highlighted the significance of this historic occasion and paid tribute to the architects of the Indian Constitution. “On this auspicious day, I pay humble tribute to the visionary leaders and framers of our Constitution, whose wisdom, courage, and sacrifice laid the foundation of a sovereign, democratic, socialist, secular, and republican India. These timeless values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity continue to guide our nation’s progress and strengthen our democratic ethos,” Gupta said.
The LG also expressed deep appreciation for the contributions of various segments of society in Ladakh. He commended the dedication and resilience of farmers, workers, teachers, doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, artisans, artists, students, youth, women, and civil society members. Their collective efforts are instrumental in fostering inclusive development and social harmony in the region.
Acknowledging the crucial role of security forces, LG Gupta paid homage to the brave personnel of the Indian Army, paramilitary forces, and Ladakh Police. “Their unwavering commitment to safeguarding our borders, ensuring peace, security, and stability in this strategically important region, inspires confidence among our citizens and upholds the sovereignty of our nation,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor also lauded the civil administration’s efforts in delivering efficient, transparent, and people-centric governance. He appreciated their tireless work in implementing developmental programs, strengthening public services, and reaching even the remotest corners of Ladakh.
Looking ahead, Kavinder Gupta called for collective efforts to transform Ladakh into a model of sustainable development, environmental conservation, and economic prosperity. Focus areas include infrastructure development, renewable energy, eco-tourism, organic farming, education, healthcare, and skill enhancement, all while preserving the region’s rich cultural heritage and fragile ecosystem.
Gupta urged the youth to be equipped with modern education, digital skills, and entrepreneurial opportunities, envisioning them as future leaders. He called for empowering women and marginalised communities by providing equal opportunities to realise their full potential.
On this momentous occasion, the Lieutenant Governor reaffirmed the commitment to the principles of the Constitution and called upon everyone to work together towards building a peaceful, prosperous, and progressive Ladakh that contributes meaningfully to a strong and developed India.
