Judiciary institutions in Kashmir celebrate Republic Day with patriotic spirit, unity

Srinagar, Jan 26: The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour across judiciary institutions in Kashmir Division. The celebrations included flag unfurling, parades, and solemn ceremonies highlighting the Constitution’s principles and the rule of law. Srinagar: Under the guidance of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh, the District Judiciary Srinagar, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), marked the occasion at the District Court Complex with patriotic zeal. The event began with the unfurling of the national flag by Principal District & Sessions Judge Haq Nawaz Zargar, followed by a salute to the guards symbolizing national unity. Judicial officers, prosecutors, bar members, police officials, and support staff participated, reflecting a collective sense of pride. Zargar stressed the importance of constitutional values and citizen duties. Children from Palash and Pareesha schools performed patriotic songs, and certificates of appreciation were distributed to children and DPL Srinagar’s Pipe Band. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Umi Kulsoom, Presiding Officer of the POCSO Court. Kulgam: The District Legal Services Authority and Judiciary celebrated at the District Court Complex in Kulgam. The flag was hoisted by Principal District & Sessions Judge Aijaz Ahmad Khan, followed by the national anthem. Dignitaries, advocates, police, and legal staff attended, with sweets distributed among police and CRPF contingents as a mark of appreciation. Similar celebrations took place across all Tehsil Legal Services Committees in the district. Kupwara: The district’s Republic Day was observed at the District Court Complex, where Principal District & Session Judge Manjeet Singh Manhas unfurled the flag and took the salute. The event was attended by judiciary members and court staff, emphasizing national unity and patriotic values. Anantnag: The district celebrated at the Court Complex with the flag unfurled by Principal District & Sessions Judge. The event featured singing of the national anthem and speeches highlighting the significance of Republic Day, the sacrifices of freedom fighters, and the role of the judiciary in upholding justice and democracy. The celebration ended with a pledge to serve the nation with integrity. At the tehsil level, Local Bodies Chairpersons also unfurled the flag, maintaining the solemn spirit of the occasion. Kupwara (Juvenile Justice Board): A special ceremony was held at the Juvenile Justice Board premises, where Principal Magistrate Mudasir Bashir unfurled the flag alongside staff and officers. He reflected on the importance of Republic Day and the juvenile justice system’s role in protecting children’s rights, dignity, and future. Baramulla: The District Judiciary celebrated at the District Court Complex, with Principal District & Sessions Judge Jawad Ahmad unfurling the flag and a ceremonial guard of honor by police and BSF. Senior judges and bar representatives attended, reaffirming commitment to constitutional values. Pulwama: The district marked the day with a flag unfurling at the District Court Complex by Special Judge NDPS Manzoor Ahmad Zargar, who also reviewed the march-past. Staff and legal officials participated, emphasizing patriotism and national unity. All Tehsil Legal Services Committees in Pulwama district also celebrated by unfurling flags and paying homage. Shopian: Principal District & Sessions Judge Mehmood Ahmad Chowdhary led the celebrations, unfurling the flag in a solemn act of patriotism. Officers, legal staff, and the judiciary fraternity gathered to reaffirm their dedication to the nation’s sovereignty and constitutional ideals. Chowdhary highlighted the judiciary’s role in upholding justice and ensuring access to legal rights, especially for marginalized groups. Across all districts, the celebrations reflected a collective spirit of patriotism, constitutional pride, and dedication to the nation’s constitutional values. The events served as a reminder of the sacrifices made for independence and the ongoing importance of justice, liberty, and equality in India’s democratic fabric.
