Javid Dar pays tribute to Constitution framers on R-Day

Honours sacrifices of freedom fighters, martyrs Baramulla, Jan 26: The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with grandeur at District Police Lines Baramulla, where Minister Javid Ahmad Dar unfurled the national flag, inspected the parade, and took the ceremonial salute. The parade featured contingents from BSF, CRPF, J&K Police, SSB, IRP, Armed Police Ladies, NCC cadets, students, and cultural groups, reflecting regional unity and patriotic pride. Dar paid tribute to the visionaries behind India’s Constitution and honored the sacrifices of freedom fighters and martyrs. He highlighted the district’s progress in key sectors such as agriculture, health, education, women empowerment, and infrastructure development. The event showcased cultural performances by students, emphasizing the region’s rich heritage. The Army set up stalls displaying modern weaponry and equipment, allowing visitors to see firsthand the technological advancements of the armed forces. Guests also visited booths from government departments, which displayed schemes and services aimed at public welfare. Prizes were distributed for the march-past and cultural performances, and employees from various departments were felicitated for their service. Prominent officials, including MLAs, district officers, and security personnel, attended the celebrations along with a large public gathering. Similar functions were held across subdivisions like Sopore, Pattan, Uri, and Tangmarg, where local officials unfurled the tricolor, maintaining the patriotic spirit of the day. The celebrations reinforced themes of national unity, progress, and resilience, highlighting the district’s strides in development and social welfare, and fostering a sense of pride among citizens of Baramulla.
