Jammu, Dec 24: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, on Wednesday held a virtual public darbar with residents of several areas in South Kashmir districts, reaffirming the Omar Abdullah-led Government’s commitment to responsive and people-centric governance.
During the interactive session, the Minister patiently listened to public grievances and developmental concerns raised by participants from various districts of South Kashmir. The issues included healthcare facilities, power supply, drinking water, ration, and other civic amenities.
While interacting with participants, the Minister emphasised the importance of public outreach, highlighting that these darbars are an effective tool to bridge the gap between the government and the people, ensuring transparency, accessibility, and swift service delivery, especially in remote areas.
She issued on-the-spot directions to concerned officers for time-bound redressal of genuine issues, particularly regarding power and PHE sectors during winter.
On the sidelines of the darbar, the Minister also e-inaugurated several public welfare projects of significant importance aimed at strengthening essential services and improving livelihoods, reflecting the government’s focus on inclusive and sustainable development.
The Minister reiterated that public welfare and grassroots development remain top priorities of the Omar Abdullah-led government and assured that their concerns would continue to be addressed sincerely and transparently.
