IRS (IT) officers 2016 batch elevated to Joint Commissioners

  Srinagar, Dec 31: The Ministry of Finance has announced a major career milestone for Indian Revenue Services (IRS-IT) officers of the 2016 batch, elevating them to Joint Commissioners. The promotions mark a significant step in their professional journey, entrusting them with greater responsibilities in tax administration and oversight. From Jammu and Kashmir, two IRS officers of 2016 batch have received the coveted promotion. Syed Junaid Aadil, presently serving as Deputy Director of Income Tax (Investigation), Kashmir, and Shakil Ahmad Ganie, currently posted as Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Kashmir, have both been elevated to the post of Joint Commissioner. Born in Srinagar, Syed Junaid Aadil completed his education at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar, before joining the IRS. After training at the National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT), Nagpur, he was posted in Delhi, where he worked in the crucial vertical of International Taxation. Syed has also held several important assignments and earned recognition for his contributions to the Revenue. Shakil Ahmad Ganie, hailing from Ganderbal district, pursued his education at Kashmir University. Over the years, he has served in diverse capacities in the North-West region, including the investigation wing of the Income Tax Department in Srinagar, Jalandhar and Jammu. For the past two years, he has overseen the jurisdictional charge of Srinagar Income Tax with poise and professionalism. The promotion orders have brought cheer to local offices of the central government, with colleagues celebrating the achievement on the eve of the New Year.
