Srinagar, May 21:  Government on Friday sanctioned redesignation of the post of Secretary, J&K Legislative Assembly as Secretary General  J&K Legislative Assembly. 

The post is presently held by Muzaffar Ahmad Wani who by virtue of this order is now designated as Secretary General.

This upgradation of the post shall continue till it is held by Muzaffar Ahmad Wani in his personal capacity, the order reads.

Muzaffar Ahmad Wani  has earlier held key positions of Special Secretary Law Department and Home Department.. After his promotion to the post of Secretary Law Department in the year 2018, he has been posted as Secretary, Legislative Council and then Secretary, Legislative Assembly.
