Srinagar, May 2: An army man on Sunday allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself to death with his service rifle in Sheeri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

 The trooper identified as Parveen Kumar was posted at 59 Medium Regiment at Khacharbatrey Company Veervan in Baramulla district.

 An official said soon after hearing the gunshot sound, his colleagues rushed to the spot and found him lying in a pool of blood. He said they are verifying why the soldier took the extreme step of ending his life.

 Confirming the incident, a police official told that a case was registered under relevant sections of law and further investigation in this regard has been set into motion.
