Srinagar, Feb 06: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Friday informed the Legislative Assembly that Cluster Resource Coordinators (CRCs) and subject-specific teachers engaged under the Samagra Shiksha Scheme are being paid a monthly remuneration of Rs 25,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively.
Replying to a question raised by MLA Satish Kumar Sharma, the Minister in charge of the Finance Department said that these engagements are made under the Samagra Shiksha Scheme, a centrally sponsored programme with a funding pattern of 90:10 between the Centre and the Union Territory.
The Minister said that different government departments follow their own policies and mechanisms for the engagement of contractual teaching staff and coordinators, depending on departmental requirements. Accordingly, the remuneration of contractual staff is determined under their respective policies and revised from time to time.
Providing further details, the Minister said that in the Health Department, the engagement and remuneration of medical, paramedical and technical staff are governed by the Jammu and Kashmir Medical and Dental Education (Appointment on Academic Arrangement Basis) Rules, 2020, notified vide S.O. 364 of 2020 dated November 27, 2020.
In the Skill Development Department, he said, the remuneration of faculty appointed on an academic arrangement basis and guest lecturers temporarily engaged in ITIs and polytechnics was last revised through Government Order No. 89-JK (DSD) of 2021 dated November 18, 2021.
The Minister further informed the House that in the Higher Education Department, policies related to remuneration are guided by the relevant University Grants Commission (UGC) regulations and judicial pronouncements.
