Girls Outshine Boys In Class 10 Jammu Div Results

LG, CM congratulate students; Minister Itoo highlights girls’ success, edu reforms

Srinagar, Apr 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Tuesday declared the Class 10 annual regular results for the February to March 2026 session in the Jammu division, reporting an overall pass percentage of 88.85.

As per official data, 50,754 students appeared in the examination. Out of them, 45,094 qualified, while 5,650 did not clear the exam.

Girls again outperformed boys, with a pass percentage of 90.42 compared to 87.51 recorded by boys. The trend shows girls continuing to lead in academic outcomes across the division.

Grade-wise data shows that 7,858 students secured A1 grade, while 9,287 got A2. In B1, 9,822 students qualified, and 9,680 were placed in B2. In the mid-range, 7,017 students secured C1 and 1,422 got C2. Only 8 students fell in grade D.

School-wise figures show a narrow gap between government and private institutions. Government schools recorded a pass percentage of 83.44, with 22,283 students qualifying out of 26,706. Private schools reported 94.86 per cent, with 22,811 students passing out of 24,048.

The examinations started on February 17 and ended on March 30, including practical assessments. The results were declared on April 21. A total of 527 centres were set up across the Jammu division.

The results indicate stable performance and steady improvement, with girls leading the overall success rate.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha congratulated the students, teachers and parents.

“Heartiest congratulations to all the students who have successfully passed the JKBOSE Class 10th Annual Regular Examinations-2026 (Summer Zone, Jammu Division). Wishing each one of you a bright and promising future. My compliments to the teachers and parents,” the LG said in a post on X.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also congratulated the students. He extended best wishes to all successful candidates and encouraged those who did not achieve their desired outcome to stay determined and continue working hard.

Minister for Education Sakeena Itoo congratulated students for their performance and dedication. She said the results reflect the combined efforts of students, teachers and parents. “The 83.44 per cent result in government schools as encouraging and a sign of improving standards,” she said.

Itoo praised the performance of girls, noting they have again outshone boys. “This reflects the impact of government efforts to promote girls’ education. The students must stay focused on future goals and advised those who did not perform well to keep trying,” she said.

The government, the Education Minister said, remains committed to improving infrastructure, teaching standards and learning conditions across Jammu and Kashmir.
