Demise widely condoled
Srinagar, May 07: Haji Mohammad Sultan Mir, father of senior police officer DIG Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, passed away on Thursday after a brief illness at the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, family sources said. He was a resident of Iskanderpora in central Kashmir's Budgam district.
Following his demise, his mortal remains were taken to his native village, where he was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard. A large number of people, including senior police officers, civil administration officials, relatives, colleagues, and members of civil society, attended the funeral prayers. Prominent cleric Agha Syed Muhammad Hadi Al-Moosvi led the congregational prayers.
DIG Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, a decorated 1999-batch Jammu and Kashmir Police Service (JKPS) officer, is presently serving as Director of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) in Kashmir.
The demise of Haji Mohammad Sultan Mir was widely condoled across official, social, and public circles. Several senior officers and prominent personalities expressed grief over the loss and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. Prayers were offered for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the family in this hour of grief.
