Jammu, Apr 23: Several public and trade deputations called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday, presenting a wide spectrum of developmental and industry-related matters while seeking continued policy support and facilitation.

A deputation led by President of the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), Arun Gupta, engaged with the Chief Minister on key issues concerning trade and commerce, highlighting matters impacting business activity. They urged a more conducive environment to further boost economic growth and streamline operations.

The industry delegation expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for restoring the Darbar Move, saying the session has significantly invigorated economic activity in the region, particularly across markets, rental properties, hotels, and the transport sector.

Another deputation, the Pir Panjal Welfare and Development Trust led by Vivek Verma, brought forth a range of developmental priorities reflecting the aspirations of the region's residents. The members underscored the immense tourism potential of the Pir Panjal region and called for focused efforts to harness it sustainably. They also highlighted the importance of strengthening health and education infrastructure, ensuring a reliable drinking water supply, and expanding employment opportunities, particularly for youth in border areas. Issues about the construction of community and individual bunkers, as well as further strengthening of the administrative framework in these areas, were also brought to the fore.

The Chief Minister gave a patient and attentive hearing to all the deputations and individuals, assuring them that their genuine concerns would be addressed with priority, reaffirming the government's commitment to inclusive development and responsive governance across all regions.
