SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir issues detailed diversion plan
Srinagar, May 04: Authorities have issued a comprehensive traffic advisory in view of a mega Padyatra rally scheduled in Budgam main town on May 05 (Tuesday) as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, with the event expected to significantly impact vehicular movement across the town and adjoining routes.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Rural Kashmir, Liaqat Ali, Budgam town will remain a no-traffic zone from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the day of the rally. Commuters have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel through the area during this period.
To ensure smoother movement and minimise inconvenience, traffic police have devised a detailed diversion plan:
From Beerwah and Magam towards Budgam: Diverted at Mirgund via Khumani Chowk Bemina towards Srinagar.
From Humhama towards Budgam: Rerouted at Ompora Chowk via Narkara–Gangbugh towards Srinagar.
From Khansahib towards Srinagar via Budgam: Diverted at Ichgam through Gudsathoo–Panzan–Chadoora–
From Jawalapora towards Budgam: Diverted near Crusher Point via Lakhripora, Pallar, and Mirgund towards Srinagar.
From Falchal area: Redirected at Choon Crossing towards Ichgam and further via Panzan and Chadoora to Srinagar.
Several halting points have been designated:
Traffic from Chadoora towards Budgam will be stopped at Durbugh Crossing and diverted towards the Chadoora-Srinagar road.
No vehicles will be permitted from Ompora towards Budgam; traffic will be halted and redirected via the Ompora-Narkara route.
Vehicles from Jawalapora will be halted at Crusher Point.
Traffic at Mirgund Crossing will be stopped and diverted towards Bemina, Srinagar.
Vehicles from ChadooraPanzan and Khansahib will be halted at Ichgam.
Traffic from Falchal will be stopped at Choon Crossing and rerouted accordingly.
Authorities have urged the public to strictly adhere to the advisory and cooperate with traffic personnel to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
