Ayushman's Promise Is Expiring on April 15, When the state delays payment, patients absorb the cost

Private hospitals empanelled under Ayushman Bharat–Sehat in Jammu and Kashmir have issued a final warning: services suspend April 15 unless dues some pending since 2021 are cleared. These are not administrative arrears. They are unpaid bills for surgeries already performed, dialysis already delivered, stents already placed inside living patients. Suppliers have simultaneously issued their own deadline. The chain collapses together. The State Health Agency must release pending payments before April 15, not after the disruption, not through a committee. Healthcare providers carried this scheme through financial exhaustion without interrupting patient care. That goodwill has an expiry date. It is this Tuesday.
