Two drug peddlers held in South Kashmir

Contraband Substance recovered from their profession.

 Kulgam Police continuing crackdown on Drug Peddling and its propagators to eradicate the drug menace completely from the society on Saturday arrested two drug peddlers and recovered Contraband Substance from their profession.

 
In a statement issued to media, the police spokesperson said that today, Police party of Police Station Qazigund established a naka near Kund gate and during checking a person namely Aijaz Ahmad Bhat S/O Ab Sattar Bhat R/O Khargund Qazigund roaming in suspicious condition and carrying gunny bag was intercepted. During his personal search 10 gram of Brown Sugar  was recovered from his possession and he was arrested.
 
Regarding the incident, a case with FIR No.13/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Qazigund and Investigation has been taken up.
 
Similarly another Naka was established by the Police party of Police Station Kulgam at Laroo Crossing and during naka checking one person namely Sarwar Ahmad Bhat@Sar Molvi S/O Mohamad Maqbool Bhat, a resident of village Labripora Kulgam carrying a Nylon Bag and moving in a suspicious manner was signalled to stop, but after noticing Police party he tried to flee from the spot. He was chased and apprehended tactfully. During checking 12 Kg of Poppy Straw, 03 gram & digital weighing machine was recovered from his possession. Regarding the incident case with FIR NO. 07/2022 U/S 8/15, 21of NDPS Act stands registered in *Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been taken up.
 
People are requested to come forward with any information regarding anti-social activity in their vicinity.
