Srinagar, Apr 13: In a landmark achievement for grassroots social transformation, Project RISE (Respecting Identities | Supporting Equalities) has successfully concluded across all 22 districts of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.
The initiative, undertaken by Jammu & Kashmir Bank and supported by the Directorate of School Education Jammu, Directorate of School Education Kashmir, and Directorate of School Education Ladakh, was implemented by Live For Others – Being Helpful Foundation over a six-month period from October 2025 to March 2026.
The project created a widespread impact by reaching over 50,000 individuals across diverse regions, including remote and underserved areas. With the dedicated efforts of its volunteers and field teams, Live For Others – Being Helpful Foundation ensured effective grassroots implementation, transforming awareness into a strong community-driven movement.
A total of 191 structured awareness sessions were conducted, including 92 awareness sessions integrated with gender sensitization modules delivered by experts along with hands-on self-defence training.
88 structured feedback sessions—including activities like poster making, storytelling, and interactions with respected principals—ensured that participant voices were captured for program evaluation and aligned with the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 4 (Quality Education).
Additionally, 11 community-level outreach activities amplified the initiative’s reach beyond school campuses across 22 districts, engaging 88+ schools and colleges and reaching over 50,000 beneficiaries.
The initiative focused on gender sensitivity, equality, and mutual respect, while also incorporating follow-up sessions, community outreach drives, and poster-making competitions to ensure sustainable impact and active youth participation.
The initiative went beyond conventional awareness by encouraging dialogue, participation, and critical thinking among students. Community engagement activities at prominent public locations further amplified the message, while creative competitions empowered young individuals to express and advocate for inclusivity and respect.
The successful completion of Project RISE reflects the strong collaboration between Jammu & Kashmir Bank, the Directorates of School Education, and Live For Others – Being Helpful Foundation. As the implementing agency, the Foundation played a central role in ensuring both execution and long-term impact.
As the project concludes, Live For Others – Being Helpful Foundation remains committed to carrying forward the message of equality, respect, and social responsibility. While Project RISE has formally ended, its impact will continue to inspire positive change across communities
