Laparoscopic Nephroureterectomy performed at Shadaab hospital

Srinagar, Jan 23: Bringing Laurels and accolades to Shopian town, Shadaab Hospital performed Laparoscopic Nephroureterectomy for non-functional kidney with ectopic ureteric insertion into uterus.
Such procedure hasn't even been done in any District Hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir, as such highly advanced laparoscopic surgeries are done in super speciality hospitals like SKIMS and Shireen Bagh, performing such a procedure successfully for the first time in peripheral hospitals has set a benchmark for other peripheral hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir.
The procedure was conducted by renowned Urologist Dr.Manzoor A Dar whose endeavour is to practice evidence based medicine and offer the most advanced and minimally invasive procedures to his patients. Dr. Wajahat andrabi Anaesthetist , Qayoom and Ishfaq O.T incharges, Sameer and Sibgat O.T Assistants ,Rayees , Ehsan , Waseem and  Rifat (O T staff), Gulal Aijaz and Sajad Anaesthesia Technicians were part of operating team.
The procedure was covered under Ayushmann Bharat-Sehat Scheme and complete treatment was free of cost.
Commending this benchmarking surgical procedure, various quarters of civil society and business community have lauded the efforts of medical team and administrators of Shadaab Hospital.
It's commendable to witness such surgeries being conducted at a hospital in Shopian which was deemed medically backward a few years earlier quotes Dr.Gulzar Medical Director Shifa Superspeciality  Hospital and native of District Shopian.
