Posted on May 13, 2022 | Author Irfan Yattoo
A day after a revenue employee was shot dead in Chadoora area of Budgam, hundreds of Kashmiri Pandits hit the streets on Friday and condemned the gruesome act.

Dozens of KPs were marching towards Srinagar international airport, where they tried to block the Hyderpora-Airport road. Later the march was foiled by Jammu and Kashmir Police and Paramilitary forces.

As per eyewitnesses police used tear gas shells and lathi-charge to disperse the protesters. The protests were waiting for LG Manoj Sinha to lodge a protest against the Chadoora killing.

On Thursday, a Kashmiri Pandit government employee was shot dead by the gunmen in his office in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, while a massive hunt is underway to track the attackers.

The deceased has been identified as Rahul Bhat, a resident of Sangrampora, Beerwah. He was working in the Revenue Department at Tehsil office Chadoora in Budgam.

Rahul was employed under PMs Package and left behind his wife and a 9-year-old daughter.

Police said preliminary investigations reveal that two terrorists shot Rahul with pistols.

“Terrorists fired upon one employee namely Shri Rahul Bhat from the minority community in Tehsildar office Chadoora, Budgam. He has been shifted to the hospital.@JmuKmrPolice,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted soon after the incident.
