KVIC organises awareness camp on PMEGP in Shopian

Shopian, Dec 22: Khadi and Village Industries Commission Wednesday organized an awareness camp on flagship Prime Minister's Employment Generation programme at the Meeting Hall of Deputy Commissioner’s office, here.
Appreciating the efforts of KVIC for organising such awareness camps, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani described PMEGP as the most beneficial scheme for the rural unemployed youth.
The ADC added that such awareness camps greatly help in guiding the youth towards earning income through self-employment ventures which they can establish under various schemes.
The programme was organised with the aim to create general awareness amongst the public about the schemes of Khadi and Village Industries Commission with special focus and benefits under the PMEGP Scheme.
Principal/ Nodal Officer PMEGP, J&K, Anil Kumar Sharma; Asst. Director (Employment); Lead District Manager, J&K Bank; Director RSETI; District Coordinator KVIC Budgam and a large number of local youth were present.
Earlier, Sharma gave a PowerPoint presentation on PMEGP. He informed the gathering about the online process of PMEGP applications.
He also provided information about the recently started upgradation of PMEGP scheme under which a beneficiary can avail loan up to 25 Lacs in Service Sector and upto 1 crore in Manufacturing Sector.
 
 
DC Shopian listens to public issues at Gagron
 The District Administration Shopian, under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC), Sachin Kumar Vaishya Wednesday listened to public issues during a Block Diwas programme held at Gagron, here. 
At the outset, District Development Members, Panchs Sarpanchs, PRIs, locals including those from surrounding Panchayats participated in the programme and flagged off problems and developmental issues in their respective areas.
They demanded uninterrupted power supply, potable drinking water facility and mitigation of irrigation issues, Diary Units, sanction of IAY cases, replacement of old electric poles, up-gradation of transformer and availability of suitable quantity of ration at various CA&PD depots.
Scores of issues including water, power, road, transport, ration, health were resolved on the spot after face to face deliberation with District Development Members, PRIs, District officers, while for several other issues the DDC set a timeline for their resolution.
A review of action taken on previous issues raised by local people was also taken by the DDC.
Instructions were also passed to the departmental functionaries for visiting their respective jurisdictions and listening to the grievances of the general public, besides holding awareness programmes, highlighting various individual beneficiary schemes across the Panchayats.
 
Chaff cutters distributed among beneficiaries under NLM
Shopian, Dec 22: The District Sheep Husbandry Department Shopian Wednesday distributed chaff cutters among 10 beneficiaries of the district under National livestock Mission (NLM) programme.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Simnani distributed the Chaff Cutters among the beneficiaries at Mini Secretariat Arhama, here.
Chief Sheep Husbandry Officer, Shopian, Dr. Moin-Ul-Haq and other officers/officials were also present on the occasion.
