Noted Kashmiri Pandit leader and Chairperson of Reconciliation, Return and Rehabilitations of Kashmiri migrants, Satish Mahaldar Saturday demanded return of statehood to Jammu Kashmir.
In a statement issued here, Mahaldar called for the restoration of statehood to Jammu Kashmir.
“Our land should be protected by imposing a ban on selling, mortgaging, and gifting it to outside residents,” he said and called for making power of attorney in J&K invalid.
The displaced Kashmiri Pandit leader called for 100 percent reservation for local students in Jammu Kashmir in all educational institutions and 80 percent reservation in jobs for the locals in both private and government concerns.
“All gazette job exams should be conducted by Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission including KAS, KCS, KPS and other departmental jobs,” he said and demanded strict environmental laws be implemented and all environmental concerns be addressed before land allocation.
Mahaldar also called for return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits with dignity.
