J&K reports 5606 new covid cases, eight deaths

Srinagar district recorded the highest number of cases at 1305, followed by 678 in Jammu district.

Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday recorded 5606 fresh Covid cases, taking the number of infected persons to 414772 while eight persons died due to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said.

Of the new cases, 1353 were from the Jammu division and 4253 from the Kashmir division of the union territory, Officials said.

Srinagar district recorded the highest number of cases at 1305, followed by 678 in Jammu district.

There are 47969 active cases in the union territory while the number of recoveries so far has been 362168, officials said.

Moreover, 5005 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 1592 from Jammu Division and 3413 from Kashmir, they said.
