DSEK asks coaching centers to submit compliance report

Srinagar, Jan 04: The government has asked the heads of private coaching institutes of Kashmir valley to submit the compliance report about joining of the underprivileged students who are supposed to get free coaching under 10 percent reserved departmental quota for the session 2021-22.
The information was revealed by the Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) while issuing the order regarding selection of candidate for private coaching and tuition centers under 10 percent reserved departmental quota for the session 2021-22 under orphan, Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) , physical challenged, BPL, destitute and underprivileged categories.
The director said that as per the government orders of 2010 which stipulates that 10 percent reserved departmental quota of the total in-take capacity shall be reserved for the students belonging to these underprivileged students.
He said, “A departmental committee was constituted to scrutinize the cases as per norms and make recommendations accordingly.”
“Accordingly, on the basis of recommendations of a designated committee followed by computer based randomization, DSEK has sanctioned the selection of 11,787 candidates reflected for the free coaching in tuition centers under 10 percent reserved quota for the session 2020-21,” the order reads.
Stating the conditions, DSEK said, “The concerned private coaching or tuition centers are advised to check the authenticity of the reserved category with the original documents before the selected candidate is allowed to join for free coaching under10 percent departmental reserved quota”.
“They shall not allow the selected candidate in case of any variation in the particulars of the selected candidates reflected in the order especially the category under selected and the same shall be conveyed to the office of DSEK within one week,” reads the order.
It also reads that the selected candidates having any grievance shall approach DSEK within weeks’time and the concerned private coaching and tuition centers shall submit the compliance report about joining of the student in the particular coaching center to DSEK office within 15 days.
“The heads of coaching centers shall ensure implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) in view of COVID-19 pandemic as notified by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for the government of India and the government of Jammu and Kashmir,” DSEK said.
