DC, SSP Shopian visits Dubjan to monitor ongoing rescue operation of drowned kid

Shopian, Apr 28: Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Shishir Gupta and Senior Superintendent of Police Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Chaudhary on Tuesday visited Dubjan, where a kid from Pulwama district drowned in Rambaira river on Sunday.

 

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the ongoing rescue operation at the site. He took stock of the efforts being undertaken by the concerned rescue agencies and issued necessary directions to further intensify the search.

 

Rescue teams comprising Police, SDRF, local volunteers and other experts are carrying out extensive search operations in the river to trace the kid.

 

The Deputy Commissioner assured that the district administration is taking every possible step to trace and retrieve him. He stated that the administration is maintaining close supervision over the entire operation to ensure effective coordination among all agencies.

 

He further informed that an additional team of NDRF is being deployed to augment the ongoing rescue efforts and expedite the operation.
