DC Budgam chairs public darbar at Parnewa

Budgam, Apr 20: Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan on Monday chaired a Mega Public Darbar at Parnewa Budgam, reaffirming the administration’s commitment towards responsive and people-centric governance.

 

The Public Darbar witnessed an overwhelming response, with large participation from Parnewa and adjoining Halqas including Kremshore, Dreygam, Bugroo, Palpora, Havoora, Wager, and Shuru. The event provided a platform for public to raise their concerns regarding developmental and civic issues.

 

Accompanied by a team of district and sectoral officers, the DC patiently heard grievances and demands from various delegations and individuals.

 

During the Darbar, the residents submitted memorandums highlighting several pressing issues crucial for the socio-economic development of the area.

 

The DC emphasized that Public Darbars are aimed to bridge the gap between the administration and the people, enabling prompt and effective grievance redressal. He assured the public that all genuine issues raised during the Darbar have been duly noted and will be addressed in a time-bound manner.

 

“Our objective is not only to listen but to ensure resolution. Every genuine concern will be acted upon with urgency,” the DC stated.

 

He directed the concerned departmental heads to take immediate necessary action, particularly on critical issues such as water supply and electricity. He directed officers to initiate feasibility assessments wherever required and submit progress reports within stipulated timelines.

 

The officers were instructed to adopt a proactive approach, maintain close coordination with field functionaries, and ensure visible improvements on the ground.

 

The DC assured the public that district administration will continue such outreach programmes, reinforcing transparency, accountability, and participatory governance at the grassroots level.

 

Meanwhile a plantation drive was also being done by DC under the aegis of 100 days intensive Nasha Mukt Abhiyan going in the District. Besides, SDM Khanshaib, Jahangir Giri; JD, Planning Budgam, other senior officers were present in the occasion.
