After a Gap of 28-year, Tourism Dept Kashmir relaunches Heritage Tour Srinagar City Bus Service

In a major boost to the tourism sector in the valley, Jammu and Kashmir Tourism on Tuesday after a gap of more than 28 years, restarted the ‘Heritage Tour of Srinagar City’ bus service in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) on the occasion of National Tourism Day.

 In a major boost to the tourism sector in the valley, Jammu and Kashmir Tourism on Tuesday after a gap of more than 28 years, restarted the ‘Heritage Tour of Srinagar City’ bus service in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) on the occasion of National Tourism Day.

 
The restarting of the Bus service was flagged of by the Commissioner Secretary Tourism Sarmad Hafeez and was accompanied by the Director Tourism Kashmir at Zabarwan Park in Srinagar.
 
Director Tourism Kashmir Dr. N Itoo while speaking to the Rising Kashmir said that the restart of the Heritage Tour of Srinagar City bus service is a big achievement towards the tourism sector of the valley.
 
“Restart of the Heritage bus service in Srinagar is a major boost for tourism, the visitors can board the bus at one stop destination at Zabarwan Park and can witness beautiful scenic heritage sites in Srinagar”, Dr. Itoo said.
 
As per the itinerary the heritage tour will cover various destinations in Srinagar which include Dargah Hazratbal, Chhatipadshahi, Hari Parbat, Jamia Masjid, ZainaKadal, and will start from Zabarwan Park.
 
The  other track for the city heritage tour covers Shankaracharya Temple, Boulevard, Pari Mahal, Chesmashahi, Nishat Garden, Harvan, Buddhist Site Harvan Shalimar garden and Burzahama Archaeological Site.
 
An official from the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) told Rising Kashmir that the restarting of the bus service is itself an achievement.
 
“The restart of the service can surely be an attraction for all visitors where they can witness the beautiful heritage sites in Srinagar”, the official said.
 
On the occasion a Fam tour group who is in the valley was taken on a heritage tour of Srinagar City.
