ADC Shopian urges Ulemas to sensitize people to follow SOPs

Shopian, Jan 13: In view of the subsequent rise in Covid-19 cases in the UT, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani Thursday convened a meeting of officers, Ulemas, religious leaders and other concerned to review the Covid mitigation efforts.
In his address, the ADC stressed the Ulemas and others to play their role in spreading the awareness regarding implementation of Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and related SOPs among the masses.
Simani said that the aim of the meeting is to send a message to the people about implementation of Covid Appropriate Behaviour through Ulemas of Masajids so that people can be saved from such a deadly virus.
He said that the Aimah and religious leaders’ role is very important in this behalf and emphasised upon them to spread the awareness of Covid Appropriate Behaviour in their respective Masjids.
ADC on the occasion, stressed upon the Ulemas to use their influence so that people will follow CAB religiously. He said that the need of the hour is to make use of masks, maintain social distance and avoid large gatherings to save precious lives.
Among others, Officers and officials of various departments were present on the occasion.
 
 
 
Rs 48k fine recovered from erring FBOs
 The Court of Adjudicating Officer, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani Thursday recovered a fine of Rs.48, 200 under section 56 and 58 from the erring Food Business Operators (FBOs) in the district.
During the hearing, the Adjudicating Officer disposed-off 17 cases of FBOs for violation of the prescribed provisions/ norms of Food Safety and Standard Act and Rules and Regulations made there under (FSSA) and imposed and recovered a fine from them.
The FBOs of Shopian were warned against any kind of violation in future.
 
 
DIC Shopian urges people to implement Covid-19 SOPs
 District Information Centre (DIC) Shopian Thursday conducted various activities for implementation of Covid-19 SOPs in Shopian town, Pinjoora, Trenz and Pahnoo areas of the district.
In this regard, frequent appeals were made through PAS mounted vehicle about following of Covid Appropriate Behaviour, usage of masks and hand hygiene besides maintaining social distance.
Meanwhile, pamphlets were also distributed near Jamia Masjid and ATMs and people were guided to follow the instructions about Covid-19 SOPs.
The DIC Shopian has started the massive IEC campaign in the district from 10th of this month.
Immunity booster medicines distributed among 108867 beneficiaries at Shopian
SHOPIAN, JANUARY 13: The Ayush Department Shopian under the supervision of Nodal Officer, Ayush Shopian Dr.Irshad Ahmad, awareness camps were organised at various places of the district including at block 74 in Shopin, Keller and Zainapora.
On the occasion, Ayush immunity booster medicines and health tonic supplements were distributed among the general public of the concerned areas.
Nodal Officer said that 108867 people from block Shopin, Keller and Zainapora of the district have received immunity booster medicines from April 2021 to December 2021 in view of Covid-19 pandemic.
He also said that beneficiaries of the concerned areas were also stressed to inform people from other areas to come forward for testing rather than pressing the panic button.
He informed that the Ayush Department has conducted various awareness programmes and the Ayush expert's advised the people to use face masks while venturing out of their homes if and when necessary and also use hand sanitizers and wash hands with soap frequently.
People were asked to co-operate with the district administration and were also assured that the District Administration is always on the forefront to provide better health care facilities to the people of the district.
