e-SHRAM portal to ensure better execution of welfare schemes: ADC Shopian

Shopian, Dec 01: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Simnani Wednesday said the e-SHRAM portal launched by the government is aimed at facilitating better execution of various social security schemes for all unorganised sector workers.  
He made these remarks during a meeting of concerned officers in the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat Arhama Shopian.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Chief Education Officer, Mushtaq Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner, Development, 
Hilal Ahmed Jeri, Assistant   Labour, Commissioner, Abdul Majid Tantray, District Manager, NRLM, Block Development Officers,     District Information Officer, District Informatics Officer and officers from Fisheries. Agriculture, Horticulture, DIC, besides other concerned were present in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADC said the e-SHRAM portal launched by the Government is aimed at facilitating better execution of various Social Security schemes for all unorganised sector workers. 
The ADC said that the initiative of the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment is for building a national database of unorganised workers and is an effort towards formalisation of unorganised workforce that will help to identify unorganized sector workers.
He said that it is a much-needed step towards ensuring benefits of all Government Security schemes reaches to the targeted workers.
The ADC stressed the officers to ensure holding of regular registration camps at the district and CSC level for the unorganised workers.
The ADC added that such awareness camps would prove helpful to disseminate Information, Education and Communication (IEC) amongst the prospective beneficiaries of e-SHRAM and their implementation through the Labour and Employment department and other official machinery.
The ADC further asked the concerned officers to work in proper coordination in monitoring of mobilisation of target sub-groups of unorganised workers like MGNREGA workers, SHG members under NRLM, street vendors, Auto drivers, construction (BOCW) workers, mid-day meal workers, domestic workers, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, Agricultural labourers, Fishermen and Brick-kiln workers through respective line departments for registration under e-SHRAM in terms of defined targets.
Earlier, Assistant Commissioner Labour Department, Abdul Majid Tantray briefed the Chair about the use of the e-SHRAM portal. He apprised the Chair that till date 17539 unorganised workers have been registered in Shopian district since the launch of the e-SHRAM portal in the district.
 
 
‘Mulaqaat’ outreach prog on income tax, GST held in Shopian
 Income Tax Department  in Collaboration with the District Administration, Shopian Wednesday Organised an outreach programme, titled ‘Mulaqaat’ with the stakeholders, Contractors, Shopkeepers and Youth of Shopian District with regard to Income Tax and Central  GST.
A Central team headed by Assistant Commissioner, Income Tax, Abhi Shri   accompanied by  Deputy Commissioner, GST, Daanish Inder Singh Gill chaired the said programme here at Mini Secretariat Arhama Shopian.
Among others, Assistant Commissioner, Development, Hilal Ahmed Jeri, Tax Officer, Shopian, Zamir Ahmed Wani, BDO Shopian, President, Traders Association, Shopian, Traders, Contractors, Shopkeepers and other concerned were present.
 while addressing the participants in an interaction with the Tax Administrators and Stakeholder the Assistant Commissioner said  that our aim is to visit the district to carry out an outreach programme and hold interactive sessions with various stakeholders including small and medium businessmen , young professionals , start-ups and youth and also to listen the grievances, complaints, suggestions etc.raised so for in this regard.
The purpose of this outreach programme and interactive sessions is to understand the difficulties being faced by the public in respect of Direct and Indirect Taxes and to assist them in solving the problems along with motivating the youth to pay taxes.
The aim is also to find out about the expectations and suggestions of the people from the forthcoming Union Budget and to make the public aware about the technological advancements made by the new taxation regime to increase transparency and ease of compliance and to provide better taxpayers’ service.
On the occasion, the traders, contractors and Youth also put forth their 9valuable suggestions which were patiently heard and taken into consideration for their early solution.
 
 
 
Relief distributed among fire victims
On the directions of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Simnani,NaibTehsildar Pinjoora, Gh Nabi Dar alongwith Girdawar and Patwari concerned today visited Shakhsaz Mohalla Pinjoora Shopian and distributed relief out of Red Cross viz Blankets, Utensils and Food Kits among the victims whose residential houses were gutted in a fire incident.
ADC also issued directions to Naib Tehsildar concerned to prepare relief cases so that relief as admissible under rules is paid among fire victims at the earliest.
