Adbi Markaz holds 13th Annaual Conference in Sopore

Writers, intellectuals, and civil society members attend one-day event

Rafiabad, Nov 21: Rafiabad Adbi Markaz, (RAAM) founded in 1987, held its 13th Annual conference in Kashmir Women’s college in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.
As per a statement, Justice Bashir Kirmani presided over the function while Prof Faruq Fayyaz, Prof Bashar Bashir, Prof Ismail and vice president Syed Akhtar, along with patron RAAM Dr Rafeeq Masoodi, former president AMK Faruq Rafiabadi and president RAAM Shabnum Gulzar shared the dice.
The statement reads that Dr Rafeeq Masoodi delivered a keynote address and Shabnum Gulzar welcomed the galaxy of writers.
“Five books by Mirdardpuri, Bashir Chirag, Qazi Gulshan and Dr Ahmad Manzur were also launched on the occasion. Annual Awards of RAAM Bargh-i-Danish, Bargh-i-Eesar, and Bargh-i- Rafiadad were also presented by justice Kirmani to Shabir Ahmad Shabeer, Late Atiqa Bano alias Behenji and GM Tawheedi for their immense contribution in art culture and language,” it reads.
On the sidelines of the conference a poetic symposium was also held in which Hassan Azhar, Tariq A Tariq, Nazir Sagar, Gulamir Laduri, Shekh Jurrat, Javed Iqbal, Parvaiz Amin and Hasan Darvesh participated.
Justice Kirmani in his speech hailed Rafiabad Adbi Markaz and said that it is making history in literary pursuits.
Prof Fayyaz said that RAAM is a factory of creative writers which the language is proud of poets like Shahnaz Rashid, Nisar Azam, Shabnum Gulzar, Shabir Ahmad Shabir, Ammadar and highly acclaimed writer administrator Dr Rafeeq Masoodi. Prof Bashar Bashir congratulated all awardees and RAAM for its literary pursuits.
The statement reads that Ali Shaida, president Maraz Adbi Sangam, in his telephonic message congratulated RAAM for holding the conference and was sad due to indisposition he could not be physically there.
The event was held under the patronage of Adbi Markaz Kamraz as part of its year-long Golden jubilee celebrations.
